The 5 AM Club by Robin Sharma

I would definitely not recommend reading this book. It’s a joke. I made a direct consumerist purchase after listening to Jay Shetty’s interview with Robin Sharma about getting up early and how that is the wonder formula to everything in life. This self-management guru decided to put his self-management tips in story-form and it reads like a fantasy novel written by a 5-year-old.

HOWEVER, I’m a big fan of the underlying theory that is proposed in the podcast and the book: Get up at 5 AM every day, dedicate 20 minutes to meditation, 20 minutes to an intense workout and 20 minutes to podcasts/book/writing/journaling.

In practice, you’ll be spending 1,5 hours on this (getting up, washing your face, and changing locations weren’t included in this 60-minute ritual) but it makes you discover the utter silence you have to yourself in the mornings, morning productivity and whatever distractions you’ll encounter during the day: at least you accomplished your morning to do’s already. And if you go outside for your workout you might even catch a sunrise, all for yourself.

Don’t read the book though. Listen to the podcast episode and to the work yourself.
